The Forty Club come to Elie for the first time.  The Forty Club is reputed to be the largest wandering cricket club in the world.  Without a home ground the club always ‘plays away’, which is handy because The Ship very rarely do anything but play at home.  The club was originally created for players over 40 years of age, and its main aim is to ‘take cricket’ to the schools by playing fixtures against dozens of state and public schools, and youth XIs.  Through this they hope to provide cricketing experience for young people to enable them to develop their skills and also to understand what is meant by the spirit of cricket.

This promises to be a wonderful day celebrating all that is fabulous about the game of cricket.
